mark romanek to be keynote speaker at resfest 2005 (l.a.)

a chicago native, mark romanek is indisputably one of the most prominent music video directors working in the us today. working through anonymous content, romanek has directed videos for an incredibly diverse array of artists, including fiona apple, audioslave, beck, david bowie, johnny cash, eels, macy gray, janet jackson, michael jackson, mick jagger, jay-z, lenny kravitz, madonna, nine inch nails, no doubt, iggy pop, red hot chili peppers, r.e.m., linkin park, keith richards and sonic youth.

he has garnered numerous awards and industry accolades and several of his videos are now on permanent display at new york's museum of modern art. romanek has also directed the feature film one hour photo, starring robin williams, and many tv commercials. his next feature is currently in development with universal pictures.
